NTT, OborDewata.com – The extensive track record and achievements of the former President Director of PT Jamkrida Bali, I Ketut Widiana Karya, SE, MBA, speak for themselves. Beginning his journey as a consultant in 2024 with high confidence and strong determination, he successfully led PT Jamkrida Bali as President Director from November 2010 to 2025. Based on this stellar performance, Bali Governor Wayan Koster recommended him for the position of President Director of PT Jamkrida NTT. He was officially inaugurated by the Governor of NTT, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, on Thursday afternoon (9/7/2026).

The newly appointed President Director of PT Jamkrida NTT, I Ketut Widiana Karya, SE, MBA, stated that his appointment came after successfully passing a rigorous selection process, including the fit and proper test conducted by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The leadership transition of this regional credit guarantee company (BUMD) is scheduled to enter its final stage through an official ceremony.

To reach this stage, Widiana Karya underwent a lengthy screening process involving regional stakeholders, certification bodies, and the state financial regulator. The appointment process consisted of seven main stages.

”The process to get to this stage was quite long and very strict. I went through various phases, starting from submitting a regular application, followed by an administrative selection by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee in NTT Province. After that, I presented the vision, mission, and company development plan before the committee,” he revealed.

He added that the process then moved to Jakarta for a professional competency certification test. “I took the competency certification test at the Guarantee Certification Institute in Jakarta, and then entered the crucial stage: the fit and proper test by the OJK examining team. Once cleared by the regulator, the shareholders immediately followed up through an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on July 4th. Astungkara, this Thursday, July 9, I am being directly inaugurated by the Governor of NTT,” he added.

Widiana Karya further explained that following a series of agreements spanning from Denpasar to Mandalika, the signing of a Cooperation Agreement in Golo Mori, Labuan Bajo, aims to boost the local economy through commodity trading and the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The regional synergy, often dubbed the “Little Sunda” or Golden Triangle, focuses on meeting inter-regional commodity needs. Through this collaboration, local commodities such as bananas from NTT can now be supplied to meet market demands in Bali. Conversely, food commodities like eggs from Bali can be shipped to Labuan Bajo to support NTT’s rapidly growing tourism sector.

“The smooth flow of these goods highly depends on the productivity of downstream small industries. This is where the role of regional financial institutions is deemed crucial to strengthen the capital of business actors. Responding to this challenge, PT Jamkrida NTT takes a strategic position as the driving force for financing local entrepreneurs,” he explained.

Widiana Karya emphasized that his institution holds a vital role as a credit guarantor for MSMEs partnering with Bank NTT. “Our position is to guarantee financing for MSMEs at Bank NTT. The goal is clear: to advance and empower local MSMEs so they can grow further,” he said.

Through this guarantee scheme, small industries producing handicrafts, woven fabrics, as well as those in the agriculture and plantation sectors, no longer need to worry about collateral requirements when applying for business loans from banks.

Widiana Karya shared that his journey to becoming the President Director of Jamkrida NTT was based on the recommendation of Bali Governor Wayan Koster following discussions regarding management needs. Outlining his first tactical step, he stated that the initial phase will focus on internal consolidation to map out potential and evaluate existing work programs.

”We will consolidate internally first. As a newcomer, I need to get to know Jamkrida NTT thoroughly—understanding its potential, what has been accomplished, and what still needs to be done,” he explained.

Furthermore, he sees a major opportunity for broader collaboration among regional guarantee companies across three provinces. Plans for benchmarking studies and knowledge sharing with Jamkrida Bali and Jamkrida NTB are high on his future agenda.

”We will learn from Bali regarding the strengths that Jamkrida Bali has but Jamkrida NTT lacks. We will invite the team from Jamkrida NTT to learn in Bali. Vice versa, any strengths found in NTT can be studied by Bali and NTB,” he concluded.

This cross-institutional synergy among financial agencies is expected to bridge the economic gap in the eastern region and position the MSME sector as the main pillar of food security and tourism in the Bali-Nusra (Bali and Lesser Sunda Islands) region. tra/dx/mei
