DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – Ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Party, cadres nationwide mobilized simultaneously to launch the “Blue Sky Movement: Beautiful Indonesia” program. In Bali, this social initiative kicked off with a massive cleanup drive around the Denpasar City Government Complex and the Denpasar Traditional Village on Friday (July 10).

The Chairman of the Democratic Party’s Bali Regional Executive Committee, I Made Mudarta, explained that this movement is a direct instruction from the Party’s Central Chairman. It aims to support President Prabowo Subianto’s national vision of creating a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful Indonesia.

”Starting today, Democratic cadres across the nation have been instructed to step ground and assist the community in cleanup activities. In Bali, we are focusing on the government center as well as the cultural heart at the Denpasar Traditional Village,” Mudarta said on the sidelines of the event.

Assisting in Post-Ritual Cleanup

The choice of the Denpasar Traditional Village as the main location was deliberate. Mudarta noted that this area holds the largest number of traditional sub-hamlets in Bali, totaling 105 sub-hamlets. Coincidentally, the area had just concluded major religious ceremonies, which left behind organic remnants from ritual offerings.

”The relationship between humans and God has been fulfilled through the ceremonies. Naturally, there are leftover ritual materials that accumulate afterward. Therefore, the Democratic Party felt compelled to help our people in the traditional village clean up the area,” he expressed.

A Synchronized Movement Leading to the Anniversary Peak

This environmental initiative is not a one-off event. Mudarta emphasized that the synchronized national cleanup campaign will run from July 10 through August 28, building up to the peak celebration of the Democratic Party’s anniversary on September 9.

On the first day of the launch in Bali, the campaign was held simultaneously at two main locations: Denpasar and the Taman area.

”While every Friday will be highlighted on a national level, we encourage our cadres to continue conducting similar activities in their respective neighborhoods daily,” he added.

Synergizing with the Governor’s Program and Preserving Bali’s Tourism Image

Through the Blue Sky Movement, the Bali Democrats also voiced their full support for the Governor of Bali’s program on source-based waste management. Mudarta reminded the public that waste must be managed right from its source—starting from households, sub-hamlet neighborhoods, up to the Traditional Villages—to prevent massive accumulation shifting from one village to another.

According to him, maintaining a clean environment is the primary asset for Bali as the world’s top tourism destination.

”If the environment is clean, the sky will naturally stay blue. This is our collective responsibility, and the Democrats are at the forefront with the people to keep Bali beautiful and pristine,” Mudarta concluded. tra/dx
