DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – The digitalization of payment systems through BRI’s Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) has streamlined transaction management for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This benefit is fully realized by Fruit Junkies, a local fruit juice business in Denpasar, which now records cashless transactions of up to Rp2 million daily.
The owner of Fruit Junkies, Satrio Utomo, stated that the use of QRIS is increasingly favored by customers due to its faster and more practical payment process. In fact, QRIS transactions now account for approximately half of the business’s total daily sales.

”The average transaction value via QRIS exceeds Rp2 million per day. The payments go directly into our account, making it much more practical, and I don’t have to visit the bank frequently to deposit cash,” Satrio said on Thursday (July 16, 2026).
He explained that the cash received from customers is typically used directly to purchase raw materials at the market. On a daily basis, Fruit Junkies manages to sell around 200 cups of juice featuring various fruit options.
According to Satrio, the ratio between cash and cashless payments remains relatively balanced at around 50 percent each. However, QRIS usage tends to spike at the beginning of the month compared to cash transactions.
”During the early days of the month, customers generally prefer using QRIS,” he noted.
Fruit Junkies has been operating in Denpasar for about 11 years. Starting with avocado juice, sourcing raw materials from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), the business has since expanded to offer a wide selection of fruit juices, including mango, soursop, strawberry, and various seasonal fruits.
To maintain production quality and consistency, Fruit Junkies uses around 40 kilograms of ripe avocados daily. The fruit supply is sourced from both Bali and NTT to ensure production needs are met throughout the year.
Hery Noercahya, Regional CEO of BRI Region 17 Denpasar, stated that BRI QRIS serves as a digital payment solution that helps MSMEs improve business efficiency while strengthening their competitiveness in the digital era.
According to him, through a single QR code, business owners can accept payments from various mobile banking applications and digital wallets integrated with the national QRIS system.
”BRI QRIS provides transaction convenience that is faster, safer, and more efficient. All transactions are also digitally recorded, making it easier for business owners to manage their business finances,” Hery explained.
He added that BRI continues to accelerate the digitalization of MSMEs in the regions of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) through education, assistance, and a simplified registration process for QRIS merchants. Additionally, BRI offers the BRIMerchant application to help business owners monitor transactions in real time.
Hery emphasized that BRI will continue to strengthen its support for MSME empowerment through various digital service innovations. This initiative is expected to expand market access, improve operational efficiency, and boost the contribution of MSMEs to regional economic growth.
”MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy. Therefore, BRI will continue to deliver digital solutions so that business owners can grow, adapt to technology, and build stronger competitiveness,” he concluded. (rls/team)
