DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – Having completed her radiotherapy, cancer survivor Ketut Cica is now entering a new chapter in her journey. Armed with a renewed and fierce determination, she no longer feels the need to wait for final treatments before sharing her experiences and educating others about the dangers of cancer. There is a sense of relief in her heart, but it is a victory clouded by grief; several of her fellow warriors have recently fallen in their battle against the disease.
Driven by this profound loss, Ketut Cica’s spirit grows alongside the prayers and hope she wishes to share with fellow survivors—especially those newly diagnosed, so they do not make the wrong choices. This deep concern sparked Cica’s digital humanitarian mission. She has witnessed firsthand how a storm of misinformation and hoaxes often lures new cancer patients into misguided alternative treatments, frequently with fatal consequences.
”When a survivor is diagnosed with cancer, the only remedy is the medical route. Following a doctor’s advice is the only way if you want to live a long life and see the beautiful smiles of your loved ones,” she said when interviewed on Thursday (2/7/2026).
Through simple means and without a luxurious studio, Cica connects with the world via live streaming. Unexpectedly, the education she shares, rooted in her own empirical experience, has captured the attention of many. From the elderly and youths to young children, viewers crowd the comment section of her live broadcasts. They are hungry for knowledge about the dangers of cancer, prevention methods, and how to survive.
For cancer patients who have grown weary and exhausted from facing months or even years of medical procedures, every word Cica speaks transforms into a vital supplement of renewed hope.
She pays no mind to her own strained finances; her resolve remains unshaken to share her experiences and provide crucial knowledge about dangers and prevention of cancer. Cica’s voice has become a new beacon of encouragement for survivors tired of undergoing lengthy treatments.
For Cica, a survivor’s greatest enemy is not just the cancer cells ravaging the physical body, but also the destruction of mental health caused by their environment. The frightening, negative stigma still attached to the disease often carries horrific social consequences for patients.
”Aside from their physical suffering, cancer survivors are also mentally tortured due to being ostracized by their own families. This is truly tragic,” she said, her voice rising with emotion.
According to her observations, the collapse of mental fortitude and the loss of moral support from loved ones are often the primary triggers that cause patients to give up mid-treatment, ultimately leading to their demise. A depressed psychological state prevents the body from responding well to treatment.
”That is why I consistently do live streams. I want to share real experiences, encourage survivors so they still have a reason to smile, and push them to keep fighting through every stage of their medical treatment,” she stated firmly.
Under the dimming lights of the room, Cica looks back at her Android screen. She prepares to greet her followers on the timeline once more. For her, one tap of the live streaming button is another opportunity to extend someone’s lifeline out there. (tra/dx)
