Bali Provincial Government Sets 2025 Minimum Provincial Wage at Rp2,996,561 and Sectoral Minimum Wage at Rp3,052,834

DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – The Bali Provincial Government finalized the 2025 Minimum Provincial Wage and Sectoral Minimum Wage during sessions of the Bali Provincial Wage Council held on Friday, December 6, 2024, and Monday, December 9, 2024.

The Head of Bali’s Department of Manpower and Energy and Mineral Resources, Ida Bagus Setiawan, explained that the wage determinations follow Constitutional Court Decision Number 168/PUU-XXI/2023, which led the central government to regulate minimum wages through Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2024 concerning the 2025 Minimum Wage Determination.

“The Bali Provincial Wage Council, which consists of representatives from the government, academics/experts, employer organizations, and labor unions, has agreed to recommend a 2025 Minimum Provincial Wage of Rp2,996,561, a 6.5% increase from the 2024 Minimum Provincial Wage,” Setiawan stated on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

Through constructive and dynamic negotiations, the Council also recommended a 2025 Sectoral Minimum Wage of Rp3,052,834, representing an 8.5% increase from the 2024 Minimum Provincial Wage. This Sectoral Minimum Wage will apply specifically to workers in Bali’s tourism sector.

“Yes, (the Sectoral Minimum Wage for tourism workers) aligns with its nomenclature,” he added.

The recommendations for the 2025 Minimum Provincial Wage and Sectoral Minimum Wage were submitted to Bali’s Acting Governor for approval, considering input from workers, employers, government representatives, and academics to balance workers’ living needs with business sustainability.

Governor’s Decree Number 939/03-M/HK/2024, issued on December 9, 2024, formally sets Bali’s 2025 Minimum Provincial Wage at Rp2,996,561 per month.

Additionally, the 2025 Sectoral Minimum Wage for the tourism sector, specifically in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Services under the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) 2020 code “I,” is set at Rp3,052,834 per month. This decree will take effect on January 1, 2025.

Acting Governor of Bali, S.M. Mahendra Jaya, commended the Provincial Wage Council for completing its tasks efficiently and well before the December 11, 2024 deadline.

“This demonstrates the strong commitment of all stakeholders to ensure a fair Minimum Provincial Wage and Sectoral Minimum Wage that align with Bali’s economic needs,” he said. The Acting Governor also emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration between the government, academics, employer organizations, and labor unions in the future.
