Wow, Bali Health Department Records 1,011 Young Adults Over 20 Years Old Infected with Syphilis

DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – The province of Bali contributes 1,011 cases of syphilis to the national statistics. The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) reported a total of 6,885 cases of gonorrhea and syphilis in Indonesia in 2024. This time, syphilis is more prevalent among children under 15 years old, particularly those aged 15-19.

In Bali, the majority of syphilis cases are found in individuals over 20 years old, with the highest numbers located in Denpasar City and Badung Regency. The Head of Bali’s Health Department, I Nyoman Gede Anom, explained that this is due to a sense of curiosity and the desire to try new things as teenagers transition into adulthood.

“This leads to risk-taking behaviors without considering the consequences that may follow. Additionally, the unrestricted access to social media, where the veracity of information cannot be guaranteed, makes teenagers easily influenced by their surroundings, leading to promiscuous sexual behavior,” he stated on Friday (12/6/2024).

2024 Year-End Holiday Travel Predicted to Increase by 20% in Bali

DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – As the 2024 Christmas and New Year 2025 holidays approach, the Head of Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, predicts a 20% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the previous year, 2023.

“It’s expected to increase by about 20% because Bali is perceived as a comfortable and safe tourist destination, with cultural tourism still being the main attraction,” he explained on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

He also responded to the news of a 10% reduction in domestic flight ticket prices during the 2024-2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period. The ticket price reduction of approximately Rp 157,000 will apply at 19 airports across Indonesia, including I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali. Tjok Pemayun said this is great news that everyone has been waiting for.

“This is welcome news for the public, especially regarding flight ticket prices that have not been affordable. This price reduction will not only benefit the tourism sector, but also the broader economy, which is expected to grow again,” he added.
