DENPASAR, OborDewata.com – Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Nyoman Parta stated that the 10% reduction in domestic flight ticket prices, amounting to Rp 157,000 during the Christmas and New Year 2025 period, is still insufficient as ticket prices remain relatively high.
He expressed concern that this could lead to an increase in vehicles entering Bali during the Year-end holiday season. Parta noted that many domestic tourists prefer to use private vehicles due to the high cost of flight tickets.
“The ticket prices are still very expensive. To reduce the number of cars coming to Bali, Erick Thohir must lower the ticket prices further,” he emphasized on Thursday (12/12/2024).
Parta added that the Rp 157,000 reduction is minimal and will not significantly impact the number of private vehicles coming to Bali during the holiday season.
“The reduction is very small. It’s insignificant,” he said.
It has been suggested that restrictions on vehicles with non-Bali license plates entering the island could help reduce congestion. In the past, there were severe traffic jams on the Bali Mandara Toll Road heading to the airport. However, according to the Head of the Bali Provincial Transportation Department, IGW Samsi Gunarta, there has been no discussion or study regarding such restrictions during the year-end period.
“There will be no restrictions on vehicles from outside Bali entering Bali during Christmas and New Year. There has been no talk of moving in that direction (restrictions),” he concluded. ri/nda/sathya
