JEMBRANA, OborDewata.com —The Chairperson of the Bali Provincial Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Team, Mrs. Putri Koster has urged parents, especially young couples, to pay greater attention to their children’s health and developmental growth. She delivered the message during the “PKK Greets and Shares” event held at the Wantilan (Balinese pavilion of a Hindu temple, Pura Dang Kahyangan Gede Perancak in Jembrana Regency on Wednesday (1/10).
According to Mrs. Koster, health is the fundamental foundation for raising and educating children. “With a healthy body, parents can focus on caring for, educating, and raising their sons and daughters, so they grow into a smart generation capable of competing in the future,” she stated.
During the social event, the PKK Team of Bali Province distributed several forms of aid, including basic necessity packages for pregnant women, toddlers, people with disabilities, PKK volunteers, and the elderly. The aid, consisting of rice, eggs, and milk, is expected to support nutritional needs and ease the financial burden on the community.
In addition to food aid, the PKK also distributed 1,000 chili seedlings and 100 seedlings of various plants, such as cypress/pine, sawo kecik (Manilkara kauki), and nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum).
Also present, the Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Agency of Bali Province, I Wayan Sunada, who emphasized the importance of rabies prevention. He stressed the need for pet vaccination, sterilization, and castration, as well as community awareness to immediately visit health facilities if bitten by a rabies-transmitting animal.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the PKK Team of Jembrana Regency, Mrs. Ani Setiawarini Kembang Hartawan, expressed her appreciation for the Bali Provincial PKK’s outreach.
“We are very grateful; this event not only directly greets the community but also provides tangible assistance. Hopefully, it will be an inspiration while simultaneously strengthening the spirit of menyama braya (fraternity/solidarity) within the community,” she said.
The “PKK Greets and Shares” event was also attended by several provincial officials, including the First Secretary of the PKK Team of Bali Province, Mrs. Seniasih Giri Prasta; the Head of the Community and Village Empowerment and Civil Registration Agency of Bali Province, I Made Dwi Dewata; the Head of the Social Affairs and Women’s and Children’s Empowerment Agency, Dr. Anak Agung Sagung Mas Dwipayani; and the Head of the Cooperative Agency of Bali Province, Tri Arya Dhyana Kubontubuh. mas/pril
